Caste identity has been a major part of Indian society
for centuries. shaping the social structure and economic and political
landscape. Different groups in this the country have benefited from and
experienced difficulties with this complicated arrangement. We examine who has
benefitted from caste identity and how it has affected many elements of life

In the historical perspective the upper caste held the
